OUR earliest BEGINNINGS WERE modest
In the beginning, kite flyers got together dedicated to kite flying and kite making and formed the QKS club.
Kitefest was born approx 35 years ago, it started from setting up for a 1 day event then quickly grew into a 2 day event.
This event has grown and changed over the years and been developed into a absolute success for the public to
attend with much thanks and appreciation to our supporter MBRIT.
Official Name change journey from QKS to Redcliffe Kite Club to now finally KITESQLD.
As our club continues to grow, with members all over Queensland, the name change now represents who we are.
Our KQ members setup displays, demonstrations and kite workshops throughout Queensland, and some have represented Australia at festivals all over the world.
The KQ Club meets at Pelican Park on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. Keep an eye on Facebook as we may change location depending on weather. We continue to look for more locations to share our love of flying kites.
